Kart: la Conca against the background of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis
Reportagem: KartCom Selection

Sport in general was quick to take a stand against Russia's attack on Ukraine. Beyond the measures aimed at penalising Russian interests in the most popular sports, there are reactions that more simply reject state violence. WSK Promotion adopted this position at the La Conca meeting by displaying "no war" slogans on a Ukrainian flag background. The stickers distributed were widely used by the drivers on their karts. For once, the world of sport did not isolate itself in a bubble and showed its desire for peace through a symbolic gesture that was unanimously shared. Following the FIA's code of conduct, the Russian colours have disappeared from the rankings, but drivers can participate in the competition as normal. Some of them are already missing because of the travel difficulties caused by this crisis.

On the sporting side, the third round of the WSK Super Master Series was marked by the variable weather. Rain came to Muro Leccese as early as the Mini Timed Practice. On Saturday it rained more or less consistently, with technicians and drivers having to adapt to the constant changes. On Sunday, when the rain stopped, the little used track of La Conca had been rinsed of all traces of rubber and the grip was poor. In OK-Junior, the fastest time of the Final was 7'' slower than pole position. The victory of the Ukrainian Oleksandr Bondarev (LN / Vortex / Vega) from the RFM team was greeted with a special atmosphere. Tony Kart Racing Team's Joe Turney (Tony Kart / Vortex / LeCont) from the UK won the OK class, while Jindrich Pesl (Parolin / Iame / Vega) from the Czech Republic won the Mini Final for the Babyrace Driver Academy team.

The WSK Super Master Series will come to an end at the Sarno circuit (ITA) next weekend at the same time as the IAME Euro Series will start in Zuera (ITA).
