Paradoxically, this result would probably have come as less of a surprise to the Italians, or even the Finns or the Swedes. Despite its large number of circuits, some of which are very famous, France does not currently shine as much in karting as in motor sport. The passion for racing is expressed less freely than in Great Britain or Italy, and the determination of its drivers is less evident than in Finland or the United Kingdom for example. However, it should not be forgotten that the world's leading kart manufacturer is French, with Sodikart the undisputed leader in the field of leisure karting with great prowess in competition.

The winners in Genk

Emilien Denner dominated the European KZ Championship after revealing himself when he won the KZ2 International Super Cup in 2019. His undisputed victory in Belgium is of course due to his great talent and determination, but also to the competitiveness of the Sodi chassis and the competence of Paul Bizalion's CPB Sport team, which hosts the Sodi Racing Team. Moreover, a good relationship with TM Racing does not hinder his success.

Tom Leuillet was very strong in the first round of the European KZ2 Championship. Also trained at CPB Sport, he had made a name for himself internationally in 2017 during a European campaign that almost led him to the title. After a serious accident last year in Lonato, he seems to have matured and can now make the most of his talent. His place in the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team allows him to use an excellent Birel ART chassis, powered by TM Racing.

The training of young drivers is very important in France. The French Motor Sport Federation has set up French Karting Schools throughout the country and the FFSA Academy supports the rise of the best to the top level. The creation of a French Junior Championship based on the model of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy trains around twenty young people each year. The current leader of this national championship, Arthur Dorison, is a good example of the effectiveness of this system. As a member of the Equipe de France Espoir Karting, he benefits from the FFSA Academy's guidance to make the most of his talent. He had a magnificent run in Genk, ending with a fine victory.

At the top of their respective championships, these three winners now have to take on the next round in Italy at the Cremona circuit, which will make its debut on the FIA Karting calendar.
