Since it decided to become officially involved in OK-Junior again, the Sodikart factory has not taken long to win an international title. At the end of a series marked by three podiums, including a victory, out of the four events, the British driver Nathan Tye became the new winner of the Champions of the Future Euro Series organised by RGMMC, promoter of the FIA Karting Championships. With two weeks to go before the final round of the OK-Junior European Championship scheduled in Franciacorta, the indicators are green for the Sodi Racing Team.

Sodikart continues to enjoy success. One week after Senna van Walstijn's victory in KZ at Cremona, another Italian circuit has crowned the French brand, this time in OK-Junior. In Franciacorta, Nathan Tye played a major role during the whole meeting and concluded the prestigious international series by winning the title no less than 37 points ahead of the 2nd-placed driver in the final ranking of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. Sodi-TM Racing and the official team remain impossible to ignore this season...

Exemplary consistency at the front

As the statistics prove, Nathan Tye is the driver who has won the most international podiums this season in OK-Junior in the FIA Karting, WSK and Champions of the Future competitions. Located between Lake Garda and Lake Iseo, the Franciacorta circuit once again highlighted the competitiveness of the Briton and his equipment. In Timed Practice, Tye achieved a brilliant pole position, before finishing all his heats and his Super Heat in the top three. A place on the outside front row awaited him in the Final!

"I knew the Final was going to be a long one and that I was likely to perform very well at the end of the race," commented Nathan. "So I didn't take any risks for most of the Final, especially as I knew that the title was already secured from the Super Heats, where all the drivers score points. Unfortunately, just as I was aiming for another podium, the two drivers in front of me got into it and I couldn't do anything to avoid them. My race ended there."

"Of course, Nathan would have liked to finish in style, but we had two objectives when we arrived in Franciacorta and we achieved them: to win the title and to prepare in the best possible way for the European Championship, which Nathan can also win," said Mansel Smith, Sodi Racing Team Manager. "I think we can be proud of the whole team. During this Euro Series, Nathan Tye was on the podium in Portugal and Spain, and then won in Sweden. This time, success was not on his side, but his performance will remain brilliant in this very competitive environment. Congratulations to our technical staff under the responsibility of Jean-Philippe Guignet. The speed of our equipment allowed our Hungarian driver Adam Hideg to climb back up to 7th place in the Final after a 20 place jump!"
