Kart: IKR / here we go again in 2024
Reportagem: KartCom Selection

The International Karting Ranking (IKR) is now well established. With no downtime, it resumed as soon as the first international events were held in 2024. The CIK-FIA has slightly modified its presentation, creating a "national" section which currently includes the Mini Gr.3 categories, as well as OK-N and OK-N Junior. In this tab we should soon find the positions generated by the various national championships according to the countries that respond to the CIK-FIA offer. Stay tuned!

To date, 10 competitions appear in the 2024 IKR. WSK Promotion takes the lion's share, with five events organized since January. The IAME Euro Series, the Rotax Max Challenge Euro Trophy and the Champions of the Future Euro Series round off the early-season rankings. It may be interesting to take stock before the start of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior, next weekend in Valencia (ESP).

The raw data are impressive. 411 drivers are currently ranked in the IKR after 10 events, and the most assiduous already have seven competitions under their belts this year. 11 categories and 58 nations are currently counted.

All categories combined, Niklas Schaufler (OKJ-AUT-KR/Iame) leads ahead of Dries van Langendonck (OKJ-BEL-Exprit/TM). They are followed by two OK drivers, Ean Eyckmans (BEL-Birel ART/TM) and Oleksandr Bondarev (UKR-KR/Iame), then two KZ2 drivers Cristian Bertuca (ITA-Birel ART/TM) and Markus Kajak (EST-Maranello/TM). Three OK-Junior drivers complete the top 10: Rocco Coronel (NLD-KR/Iame), Filippo Sala (ITA-LN/TM) and Dean Hoogendoorn (NLD-KR/Iame).

In 14th, Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) is the top Frenchman, 3rd in KZ2, Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) 22nd and 7th in KZ2. Thomas Pradier (KR/Iame) ranked 41st after his performances in OK-Junior and X30 Junior, where he was 5th. In OK, Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was the highest-placed Frenchman, in 22nd place. Clément Outran (TB Kart/Iame) was 6th in X30 Senior, Leni Robillot Lagache (Tony Kart/Rotax) 30th in Max Junior, Tom Billout (Tony Kart/Rotax) 18th in Max Senior, Antoine Barbaroux (Sodi/Rotax) 6th in DD2 and Nicolas Picot (Tony Kart/Rotax) 2nd in DD2 Master.

In the section reserved for national competitions, three Mini drivers Daniel Miron Lorente (ESP-KR/Iame), William Calleja (Parolin/Iame) and Cristian Blandino (ITA-CRG/TM) lead the way ahead of two OK-N Junior drivers: Bodgan Cosma Cristofor (ROU-Exprit/TM) and Alex Molota (SVK-Gillard/TM). Frenchman Jean Poujol (Parolin/Iame) is 15th in this section and 12th in the Mini category.

The start of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior, next weekend in Valencia (ESP) will undoubtedly modify the IKR in which the best five results are taken into account. Follow the competition live on Kartcom.
