Kart: KR sweeps the OK and Junior podiums in Valencia
Reportagem: Kart Republic

The Kart Republic family has just delivered one of its finest performances in an FIA Karting event since its inception:

OK P1 • P2 • P3 • P4 • P5 • P6

OK-Junior P1 • P2 • P3 • P6 • P8

In Spain, the KR-IAME teams also secured both pole positions and all four Super Heats! Winner of the OK Final ahead of Joe Turney and Niklas Schaufler, Noah Baglin consolidated his lead in the European Championship. In OK-Junior, Will Green remains top of the overall standings after finishing 3rd behind Daniel Miron Lorente and Many Nuvolini. In the Team Championship, KR Motorsport currently dominates both categories.

KR-IAME triumphs with the top six places in OK

Everything is looking positive in this category and many drivers have made their mark at Chiva. Following Noah Baglin's (KR Motorsport) pole position, the KR-IAME teams secured a total of 15 Qualifying Heat wins. Winner of Super Heat A, Niklas Schaufler (DPK Racing) took pole position on the Final starting grid and went on to celebrate his return to the podium in an FIA Karting event.

In his first OK event of the season, Joe Turney managed to finish 2nd on the podium behind Baglin, who was once again dazzling over the three days. Fusion Motorsport's Zak Drummond joined the party in 4th place ahead of Aaron Garcia Lopez (DPK Racing) and Manuel Miguez (VictoryLane), who achieved his best result since making his OK debut. Had it not been for a penalty, Dan Allemann (VDK Racing) would have finished 5th after winning Super Heat B.

Performance, talent and a top-three finish in OK-Junior

The Final was contested by three drivers, all powered by KR-IAME engines. Will Green (KR Motorsport) led the first lap following his victory in Super Heat A. Winner of the other Super Heat, Many Nuvolini (KR Motorsport) quickly took the lead, but Daniel Miron Lorente overtook him on the very next lap. The Fusion Motorsport driver held on until the finish, winning ahead of Nuvolini and Green. Two other KR-IAME karts featured: Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (KR Motorsport) in P6 and Antoine Sylva Venant (VDK Racing) in P8. The Belgian had been the fastest in Friday's Qualifying sessions. Oliveri Sini (KR Motorsport) missed out on a top-10 finish by just a few tenths of a second. Among the Qualifying Heat winners, Zack Zhu (VictoryLane) failed to find success in the Final.

Comment from Dino Chiesa, head of KR Global Motorsport Company

"The KR chassis and IAME engines have cemented their place at the top of the international hierarchy. Our drivers proved particularly competitive on the Lucas Guerrero circuit, where we tend to do quite well every year. I am obviously very pleased with the result achieved by our KR Motorsport team, but I note that four other teams also put in excellent performances in the top eight. Obviously, we must keep our feet on the ground. The next round takes place on a completely different circuit, at Mülsen in Germany. We will have to beat our worthy opponents once again and build on this great success in Spain."

About KR Global Motorsport Company

At the end of the 2017 season Dino Chiesa officially presented the new Kart Republic entity and its characteristic logo. The yellow, orange and red colours reflect the colours of the Serenissima Republic which, from 697 to 1797, marked the history of the Padua region, home of the KR brand. The wing refers to those of the lion of St. Mark, the symbol of Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic.

On 1st January, the KR chassis received CIK-FIA homologation. The success was immediate! In the very first season, the German Hannes Janker became European OK Champion in 2018. A few weeks later, the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR-IAME) became FIA Karting World Champion. The KR chassis quickly became a reference in the most important international events, as well as in many countries around the world. The successes in FIA Karting followed one another. At the 2022 World Championship in Campillos, less than four years after its launch, KR was the most represented brand in the paddock.

Over the years, the Kart Republic factory has continued to develop, launching the Alonso Kart brand in 2020 and relaunching the famous DAP name in early 2023. The various activities of the Italian company are now grouped under the "KR Global Motorsport Company". The head of the company, Dino Chiesa, is one of the most influential figures in the world of karting. The Italian engineer is also one of the best talent scouts in the world of karting. He has helped the rise of drivers such as Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton and Nyck De Vries. Many Formula 1 team academies trust him, including those of Mercedes, Red Bull, Alpine and Sauber. The famous Prema Racing team has just announced its entry to the world of karting, in partnership with Kart Republic.
