Kart: more potential to come from the IKR
Reportagem: KartCom Selection

In 2024, 1212 drivers will be counted in the FIA International Karting Ranking after 54 international events organised in 13 countries, and 1120 in national competitions. A driver can appear simultaneously in both levels. 32 categories were taken into account.

2024 saw the opening up of national competitions through the "national" tab. This means that the FIA has made a space available to ASNs to enter their competition results. Of the 120 ASNs listed, seven used this function this year. Unsurprisingly, the leaders are Italy with ACI-CSAI, Great Britain - MSA UK, Germany - DMSB, Spain - RFEDA, India - FMSCI, Peru - TACP and France - FFSA. The best five results are counted instead of eight international results.

The IKR national ranking is led by Niccolo' Perico (ITA) with 3546 points in Mini and Mini U10, ahead of Priam Bruno (BEL) 3509 points in Mini and Daniel Miron Lorente (ESP) 3459 points in Mini, among the 1120 classified. Maximilian Schleimer (DEU) was 7th with 3063 points in KZ2 in the DKM DSKC category, and Nicolas Marchesi (ITA) 11th in OK-N in the Italian Championship. Macauley Bishop (GBR) is 13th with his results in Max Senior in Great Britain.

A driver can be classified simultaneously in the national and international categories if they have competed in both. Schleimer, 7th in the nationals, is 233rd in the internationals, Bishop 13th in the nationals and 68th in the internationals.

Although only seven ASNs classified 1,120 drivers, the potential of the IKR could prove extremely powerful with strong participation from other countries.

So the ball is in the ASNs' court. It's free, and all you have to do is send the results to the FIA in a predefined format, a task that can be done by the timekeepers.
