Kart: further success for the KR chassis in Sarno
Reportagem: Kart Republic

Two weeks after a highly successful event at La Conca, the WSK Super Master Series continued at Sarno, one of the circuits that will host a round of the FIA European Karting Championship. The KR-IAME packages maintained a very high level of performance, while enabling the teams working with the Kart Republic factory to gather valuable information on this difficult track. The triple success of the KR chassis in OK-Junior was one of the highlights of the trip to the Neapolitan region.

OK-Junior: P1 Hoogendoorn, P2 Baglin, P3 Green

Pole-sitter on Friday, Dean Hoogendoorn (Prema Racing) put in a near-perfect performance. After winning the Prefinal, he started first in the Final. Despite strong competition, he held on to his lead until the chequered flag. The Dutchman is the new series leader. Just 26 thousandths behind his team-mate, Noah Baglin secured a one-two finish for the Prema Racing team, and has also established himself as a contender in the overall standings. Will Green (KR Motorsport) continues to rise to prominence, and he completed the podium with his KR-IAME. Drew Walz (KR Motorsport) showed his progress in 5th place (his best result at this level), while the fastest lap of the Final was set by Marcell Zsebo (DPK Racing). Remigiusz Samczyk (Fusion Motorsport) was forced to retire from the front row.

Van Langendonck leads the OK series

Winner at La Conca, Zac Drummond (Fusion Motorsport) was aiming for another victory after taking pole position. But the Final was extremely close. Dries Van Langendonck (Prema Racing) and Iacopo Martinese (Cetilar Racing), who led the opening laps, also impressed. Unfortunately, the final duel did not turn out in their favour. Van Langendonck finished 2nd, but took first place in the provisional standings. Martinese was P6. A tightly-packed field included Scott Marsh (DPK Racing) P9, Zijun Zhao (KR Motorsport) P11, Jacob Micaleff (KR Motorsport) P12 and Bernardo Bernoldi (Prema Racing) P13.

Comments from Glenn Keyaert, KR Global Motorsport Company

"As at La Conca, the teams defending the colours of KR chassis did an excellent job. The result was a magnificent treble in OK-Junior, but the performance was also there in OK. We only lost the win in the last corner! I'd like to congratulate Josh Bergman of the Kidix Driver Performance team on his victory in the Mini U10, which consolidates his leadership of the series with his KR-IAME. In KZ2, we have been working towards the European Championship, gathering information in different grip conditions. A retirement in one heat compromised Danilo Albanese's chances of a podium finish. It's a shame, because he set the 2nd fastest lap of the race in the Final. I also note that Stan Pex (SP Motorsport) crossed the finish line in 5th position, before dropping back to 10th for a spoiler penalty. Finally, I'd like to wish Dmitry Matveev a speedy recovery after he injured his arm in practice and had to withdraw from the event."

About KR Global Motorsport Company

At the end of the 2017 season Dino Chiesa officially presented the new Kart Republic entity and its characteristic logo. The yellow, orange and red colours reflect the colours of the Serenissima Republic which, from 697 to 1797, marked the history of the Padua region, home of the KR brand. The wing refers to those of the lion of St. Mark, the symbol of Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic.

On 1st January, the KR chassis received CIK-FIA homologation. The success was immediate! In the very first season, the German Hannes Janker became European OK Champion in 2018. A few weeks later, the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR-IAME) became FIA Karting World Champion. The KR chassis quickly became a reference in the most important international events, as well as in many countries around the world. The successes in FIA Karting followed one another. At the 2022 World Championship in Campillos, less than four years after its launch, KR was the most represented brand in the paddock.

Over the years, the Kart Republic factory has continued to develop, launching the Alonso Kart brand in 2020 and relaunching the famous DAP name in early 2023. The various activities of the Italian company are now grouped under the "KR Global Motorsport Company". The head of the company, Dino Chiesa, is one of the most influential figures in the world of karting. The Italian engineer is also one of the best talent scouts in the world of karting. He has helped the rise of drivers such as Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton and Nyck De Vries. Many Formula 1 team academies trust him, including those of Mercedes, Red Bull, Alpine and Sauber. The famous Prema Racing team has just announced its entry to the world of karting, in partnership with Kart Republic.
