Reportagem: Birelart

The Birelart Racing team was on track at Campillos (Spain) from March 26th-29th for the first round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. The event served as a dress rehearsal before the opening round of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK and OK-Junior, which will be held this weekend on the same track.

Aston Sharp, driving for CL Racing, brilliantly qualified 2nd in his group and immediately established himself at the front during the Qualifying Heats, winning one of them. Unfortunately, a collision at the start of his Super Heat put the brakes on his progress. Despite this, he was able to regain positions in the Final, confirming that he will be a force to be reckoned with at the European event.

Eloi Gonzalez made a remarkable comeback in the FIA Karting categories. He finished 2nd in one heat before making up no less than 19 places in the Final to cross the line in 8th position, a fine performance.

On the VAR by Birel side, Vladimir Ivannikov and Noah Wolfe were not rewarded for their efforts, but nonetheless leave with renewed confidence ahead of the European Championship. In the OK-Junior class, Ludovico Mazzola and Pietro Bagutti are also continuing to make progress.

Team Manager Jordon Lennox said:

"This was our first race weekend in warmer weather this season. We were able to adapt our set-up to the Maxxis tyres, having raced on LeCont and Vega at the start of the year. Aston and Eloi clearly showed the potential of our equipment and the progress made over the winter."

The team is now concentrating on the final preparations before the start of the European competition, with Qualifying taking place this Friday.
