Kart: action awaited in Valencia
Reportagem: Champions of the Future Academy Program

The second season of the Champions of the Future Academy Program kicked off at the beginning of March in Portimao, southern Portugal. The competition proved very exciting to watch, and the second round, scheduled for 11th-13th April on the Spanish circuit of Valencia, promises to be just as exciting. An initial hierarchy has already emerged, but many drivers will be keen to upset the odds by taking advantage of the 'arrive and drive' concept, which places all drivers on an equal footing in the Mini, OK-N Junior and OK-N Senior categories.

Talented drivers

For over a year now, RGMMC has been involved in FIA Karting, Champions of the Future Euro Series and IAME Euro Series event organisation, offering an innovative and highly acclaimed series of events, with drivers at the heart of the system: identical equipment for all, benchmark circuits, no logistics to manage, a double race programme at each meeting and the chance to be spotted by well-known driver programmes. The Academy Program offers a real springboard for future motorsport talent.

Perfect live timing and streaming

In Valencia, the field for the three categories promises to be packed once again, with no doubt plenty of action to follow from around the circuit, but also thanks to top-quality live streaming, which has been constantly improved since the series was launched. The Champions of the Future Academy Program will be broadcast on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Motorsport TV, as well as on social networks.

Markas Silkunas the early leader in OK-N Senior

In the rain on both Saturday and Sunday, Markas Silkunas (LTU) was dominant in Portimao. He took full points and will again be one of the drivers to beat in Valencia. Four other drivers enjoyed podium finishes during this opening event: Marlon Bayer (SUI), Guido Bruno Bidoli (NAM), Wojciech Woda (POL) and Chiara Battig (SUI). In addition to Chiara, a number of other female drivers showed their determination to shine at the front, with the 'F1 Academy Discover Your Drive' operation providing them with extra motivation.

OK-N Junior: Two winners and a leader

Kacper Rajpold (POL) and Albert Tamm (SUI) shared the first two races in the south of Portugal, but it was Nojus Stasionis (LTU) who scored the most points and will arrive in Spain with the provisional leader's bib. By entering two drivers from its young drivers programme, Many Nuvolini (FRA) and Julia Montlaur (FRA), in the series, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team confirms the growing interest in this competition. Respectively P2 in Final 1 and P3 in Final 2 at Portimao, Conor Clancy (UAE) and Huifei Xie (CHN) will be among the drivers to watch.

Niccolo Perico leads in Mini 60

Niccolo Perico (ITA), who is already considered a phenomenon with his numerous victories since the start of his career, has won the first two Finals in the category. U10 champion in 2024, Perico will be aiming for another title this season. Mattis Brageot (FRA) and Wynn Godschalk (USA) put up stiff resistance to the Italian driver in the first race. Jan Gardzielik (POL) and Aaron Mason (UAE) had the opportunity to climb onto the podium, revealing a very open series. Benjamin Karajkovic (UAE), winner of the Mini U10, won Final 2 and has 132 points in the overall standings, compared with 128 for Wynn Godschalk (USA), the winner of Final 1.
