Kart: Silkunas / Clancy / Perico / Godschalk crowned after a thrilling finale Al Forsan
Reportagem: Champions of the Future Academy Program

From Portimao to Al Forsan, from Europe to the United Arab Emirates, Season 2 of the Champions of the Future Academy Program was undoubtedly a great success in 2025. Sportsmanship, competitiveness, fairness, intensity and impact were on display at each of the six events organised by RGMMC. From 1st to 3rd December, the Karting Al Forsan International Sports Resort circuit brought this international series, characterised by its highly appreciated "Arrive and Drive" concept, to a spectacular conclusion. Seven different drivers took the top step of the podium, with titles going to Markas Silkunas (LTU) in OK-N Senior, Conor Clancy (UAE) in OK-N Junior, Niccolo Perico (ITA) in Mini 60 and Wynn Godschalk (USA) in Mini U10.

Mini: Perico crowned with panache, Godschalk wins thrilling U10 Final

Niccolo Perico needed to score well to confirm his 1st place in the overall standings. He did even better by winning both Finals at Al Forsan. However, one driver gave him a run for his money. On both days, Achilleas Peruzzi (UAE) managed to lead the Final and, on two occasions, he was less than a tenth of a second away from beating Perico, who was logically crowned in 2025, a year after winning the U10 title. After a magnificent comeback of 10 places, Baptiste Augustin (FRA) narrowly won a place on the podium in Final 1.

Once again, several young drivers in the Mini U10 series fought at the front throughout the event. In Abu Dhabi, the two Americans Zayne Burgess and Wynn Godschalk battled it out both in the overall standings and for the U10 title. Godschalk lost important points when he was caught up in a collision in Final 1, while Burgess won ahead of Ilyas Sami (GBR) and Amine Pantoli (FRA). The suspense remained intact in Final 2, but this time it was Burgess who was unlucky. Ranked 3rd behind Perico and Peruzzi in the Final, Francesco Lisignoli ended the season with a victory in the U10 category, while Godschalk secured the title ahead of Burgess and Samar Chopra (UAE).

OK-N Junior: Nocom and Simons Torres win, Clancy takes the title

The season remained exciting right up to the end in this category. Victories for Axel Nocom (PHI) and Angelina Simons Torres (ESP) brought the number of winners in 12 races to nine! The suspense lasted until the very end between Conor Clancy (UAE) and Many Nuvolini (FRA). Neither driver achieved the results they had hoped for at Al Forsan, but Clancy secured two better placings than his rival (P5 then P9) to win the second edition of the Champions of the Future Academy Program. In this final round, Clancy and Nuvolini let other drivers take centre stage.

In Final 1, Nocom quickly pulled away to win ahead of Veer Chopra (UAE), who controlled the pressure from Simons Torres right to the end. Having already come close to the top step of the podium in Al Ain, Angelina Simons Torres took her revenge in Final 2, becoming the second female driver to win in this series in OK-N Junior after Ella Hakkinen in 2024, but the first in 2025. Leonidas Peruzzi (UAE) caught up with the Spaniard at the very end of the race, but was unable to take the lead. The battle for 3rd place went to Albert Tamm (SUI) at the expense of Téo Policand (FRA).

Silkunas and Battig: The two leaders finish with a victory in OK-N Senior

What a season for Markas Silkunas! Runner-up in 2024, the Lithuanian added a seventh victory to his 2025 tally by winning Final 1 after a fierce battle with Dan Allemann (SUI). While Sara Matsui (JPN) completed the podium, it was another female driver who stood out in Final 2: Chiara Battig (SUI). Throughout the race, she pushed hard to catch up with Markas Silkunas (LTU) and Zac Green (GBR). She eventually caught up with the duo, accompanied by Allemann. After an incredible final lap, Battig emerged at the front of the leading group ahead of Allemann, back in the series at Al Forsan, and Green. Silkunas was unable to celebrate his title with a final victory, but he is the overall champion of the season ahead of Chiara Battig, who secured the runner-up spot ahead of Wojciech Woda. The Pole had a difficult closing weekend in the United Arab Emirates.
