At the Leopard circuit in Viterbo, which will host the FIA Karting OK-N Junior World Cup in 2026, Modena Kart Racing Team achieved an incredible performance in this category from 11th to 14th February during the first of three rounds of the WSK Euro Series: P2, P3 and P4! Ioannis Kolovos, Elton Hedfors and Alessandro Nanni were the protagonists of this brilliant result at the wheel of their Parolin-TM Karts.

Twelve top five finishes in the qualifying heats!

Whether in the rain or on a dry track, the drivers wearing the Italian team's colours constantly fought at the front of the field. Six of them managed to finish in the top five during the Qualifying Heats, with P1s for Luigi D'Ascoli, Ioannis Kolovos and Alessandro Nanni. The Modena Kart Racing Team awning is no stranger to this competitiveness, which affects all the drivers. It creates a team spirit and a clear sense of inspiration within the group, which constantly pushes itself forward with positive energy.

Ioannis Kolovos - The young Greek driver's rise to prominence was confirmed in the most beautiful way with a magnificent 2nd place in the Final. A well-deserved result, as he started by climbing from 15th place in Qualifying to 4th in the intermediate standings on Friday evening after a superb victory in a Qualifying Heat. He also won the Prefinal B with the fastest lap in the race!

Elton Hedfors - The Swede was consistently among the leaders in Viterbo. P2 in a Qualifying Heat in dry conditions, he was just as fast on Saturday in wet tyres: P2 in Prefinal B, he climbed onto the third step of the podium at the end of the Final, three weeks after narrowly missing out on the top three at La Conca. Proof of his perseverance.

Alessandro Nanni - With two wins in the Qualifying Heats and two fastest laps in the races, Alessandro proved his competitiveness. He too could have been in contention for the podium had it not been for a mishap in the heavy rain in Prefinal B, where he started from the front row. Nevertheless, he fought back brilliantly to finish 4th in the Final.

Federico Mirabella - Federico was unlucky twice during the competition. Despite finishing 2nd and 3rd in the Qualifying Heats, as well as setting the 2nd fastest time in Saturday's warm-up, he had to start the Final in 21st position, before fighting his way back up to 10th with excellent pace.

Luigi D'Ascoli - The Italian performed well in all conditions, notably achieving an impressive run in the Qualifying Heats: P4, P1 and P5 with the fastest lap! The rainy Sunday was not easy to manage, but Luigi fought hard to finish P12.

Nikita Dzhalilov - In his first experience this year in WSK with Modena Kart Racing Team, the young Russian focused on improving, while showing consistency. He finished on a positive note with an encouraging performance in Prefinal B and a gain of nine places in the Final to 23rd position.

Atiqa Mir - A difficult Qualifying session put the Indian driver in a tough spot, but she managed to secure her place in the Final, where she climbed to 25th (+8), proving her abilities.

Danila Verba - P4 in a Qualifying Heat, the Russian once again showed his talent, but he was very unlucky in the Final phase on Saturday.

Tommaso Corsi - His impressive progress during the Qualifying Heats was unfortunately followed by a retirement in Prefinal B, which blocked his path to the Final. Tommaso deserved better.

Analysis by Gabriele Finocchi, Modena Kart team principal

"The last few weeks have been marked by an excellent level of performance and many positive results in the WSK Super Master Series. After our two consecutive 4th places at La Conca and Sarno, we were a little frustrated to have come so close to the podium. We arrived in Viterbo highly motivated and determined to conquer that podium. So I am very happy to have three drivers from the team in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in the Final. This is a positive sign before continuing the WSK Super Master Series at the Viterbo circuit, which will also be the venue for the highly anticipated OK-N Junior World Cup in October."

Comment from Alessandro Palloni, Modena Kart team manager

"We had a less rainy start to the season, but that's part of the game. The key is to be able to react by choosing the best possible solutions to enable our drivers to move forward. Once again, I congratulate all the technical staff who were able to cope with all the difficulties. We have many drivers in the team and all of them managed to be competitive over the weekend. In addition to finishing on the podium, Ioannis Kolovos and Elton Hedfors are already in 2nd and 3rd place in the overall standings."
