Kart: already a WSK title for KR, well placed in all categories
Reportagem: Kart Republic

As the overall result shows, KR chassis performed well in all categories at Lonato, from Mini to KZ. Seven podiums, including two victories, added to the Italian brand's list of achievements in the WSK Super Master Series. With just a few days to go before the final round in Franciacorta, many drivers flying the colours of the Kart Republic factory chassis are extremely well placed to reach the overall podium of the series. The suspense is already over in OK-N Junior: with four wins in four races, Niccolo Perico is already assured of taking the crown!

Increasingly favourable conditions

At South Garda Karting, the official KR Motorsport team was not the only one to prove competitive. The satellite teams also deserve praise for their work. They contributed significantly to the extremely positive results achieved by the Korus group brand. The track remained dry during the three days of racing, with temperatures approaching 20°C, increasing the grip of the track. In these conditions, the potential of the KR chassis proved extremely effective and the podium was achieved in Mini, OK-N Junior, OK, OK-Junior and KZ2...

Victory for Miron Lorente in OK-Junior, 2nd place for Viapana in OK

From pole position to the Final, Daniel Miron Lorente (Fusion Motorsport) impressed in OK-Junior. His victory allows him to consolidate his 2nd place in the overall standings and put pressure on the leader before the fifth and final round. In the top 10, half of the drivers were equipped with a KR-IAME package, thanks to the performances of Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio, Alessandro Truchot, Huifei Xie and Will Green, who is in 3rd place in the series.

In OK, Valerio Viapana (Koski Motorsport) made a superb comeback to finish 2nd. The KR-IAME group was completed by Andrea Manni (KR Motorsport) in 5th place, Zac Drummond (Fusion Motorsport) in 7th and Michael McGaughy (Koski Motorsport) in 8th. By gaining 16 places in the Final, Drummond scored important points in the overall standings, where he is currently in 2nd place with a chance to fight for the title.

An encouraging podium in KZ2

In this category, the season is just beginning for Kart Republic! Despite a lack of testing compared to some of its competitors, a smaller investment and only one driver, the effectiveness of the KR-IAME and the talent of Danilo Albanese worked wonders in Lonato. Always among the fastest and constantly in the leading group, Danilo managed to climb onto the second step of the podium. The Italian is now 4th in the series standings, one point behind the 3rd-placed driver.

KR-IAME crowned OK-N Junior champion, leader in Mini 60 "Gr.3"

Niccolo Perico continues to reign supreme in the OK-N Junior category. As in La Conca, Sarno and Viterbo, he crossed the finish line as the winner in Lonato. Sebastian Riedel (Team Driver Racing Kart) joined him on the podium in 3rd place, while Henri Moehring (Dörr Motorsport) finished 5th. Perico is the new WSK Super Master Series Champion in this category.

By coming back to 2nd place in the Final, Daniel Ferguson (Team Driver Racing Kart) took the lead in the overall standings in Mini 60 "Gr.3". Wynn Godschalk impressed by moving up from 31st to 3rd place in the Final. 3rd in the series, he retains his chances of being crowned champion.

In Mini U10, Denver Bos scored points for 5th place behind Jack Fynn Wolff (KR Motorsport), keeping his podium hopes alive in the WSK Super Series, where he is currently 3rd ahead of the Franciacorta event.

Comment from Dino Chiesa, head of KR Global Motorsport Company

"I think it's always difficult to draw conclusions from these events, which will not necessarily reflect the rest of the season and in particular the hierarchy of the upcoming FIA Karting Championships. Some teams have barely finished one WSK Super Master Series event before heading straight to the circuit that will host the next competition and starting testing a week before. Of course, this allows them to prepare in the best possible conditions, but at what cost? It's not even mid-March yet, and some drivers have already spent a lot of money, even though the Champions of the Future and the European Championship haven't even started yet. Today, I am satisfied with our level of performance and results, knowing that we will continue to improve over the coming weeks. It's going to be a long season..."

About KR Global Motorsport Company

At the end of the 2017 season Dino Chiesa officially presented the new Kart Republic entity and its characteristic logo. The yellow, orange and red colours reflect the colours of the Serenissima Republic which, from 697 to 1797, marked the history of the Padua region, home of the KR brand. The wing refers to those of the lion of St. Mark, the symbol of Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic.

On 1st January, the KR chassis received CIK-FIA homologation. The success was immediate! In the very first season, the German Hannes Janker became European OK Champion in 2018. A few weeks later, the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR-IAME) became FIA Karting World Champion. The KR chassis quickly became a reference in the most important international events, as well as in many countries around the world. The successes in FIA Karting followed one another. At the 2022 World Championship in Campillos, less than four years after its launch, KR was the most represented brand in the paddock.

Over the years, the Kart Republic factory has continued to develop, launching the Alonso Kart brand in 2020 and relaunching the famous DAP name in early 2023. The various activities of the Italian company are now grouped under the "KR Global Motorsport Company". The head of the company, Dino Chiesa, is one of the most influential figures in the world of karting. The Italian engineer is also one of the best talent scouts in the world of karting. He has helped the rise of drivers such as Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton and Nyck De Vries. Many Formula 1 team academies trust him, including those of Mercedes, Red Bull, Alpine and Sauber. The famous Prema Racing team has just announced its entry to the world of karting, in partnership with Kart Republic.
