Reportagem: LeCont Srl

Following a particularly successful European Championship, LeCont confirmed the quality and consistency of its tyres at the FIA Karting World Championship, held in the highly demanding KZ categories. At the Le Mans International Circuit, LeCont tyres supported the world's top gearbox karting specialists over three days of intense competition, with high-level performances and particularly narrow margins between drivers.

LeCont at the heart of a spectacular World Championship

From the KZ Grand Prix held three weeks earlier as a warm-up, right through to the week of the World Championship, the teams were able to work in excellent conditions and prepare their equipment with sporting fairness guaranteed by the quality and consistency of the tyres. The KZ category standings provided irrefutable proof of this, with almost all the major international brands featuring in the top 12 of the Final: CRG, IPK, Maranello, Sodi, KR, Tony Kart, Birelart, Lenzo Kart and Parolin. The drivers were able to fully reach their potential and fight with determination to achieve their goals. Tyre consistency is a key factor in performance, and LeCont fulfilled its mission by meeting the demands of the season's most eagerly anticipated competition.

Whilst the KZ and KZ2 categories were fitted with LeCont LPM "Prime" tyres, the KZ2 Masters drivers used the "Option" tyres. Their characteristics were perfectly suited to the spirit of this category, reserved for drivers aged 35 and over. The same tyre compound was also used by competitors in the Handikart Champions Cup, to whom LeCont extends its congratulations for their talent, commitment and courage.

High-intensity Finals

Whether watching on screen via live streaming or lining the track at Le Mans, several thousand spectators attended this major event, which saw Sweden's Viktor Gustafsson crowned KZ Champion ahead of France's Emilien Denner and Romania's Daniel Vasile. The KZ2 World Cup was won by the Estonian Markus Kajak, ahead of the Frenchmen Arthur Lehouck and Aloïs Girardet. Anthony Abbasse won the KZ2 Masters International Super Cup for the second time in his career, beating the Italian Angelo Lombardo and the New Zealander Daniel Bray.

Frenchman Maxime Léger won the Handikart Champions Cup, whilst Spain's Joan Lascorz Moreno took the H3 title. The fastest lap of the meeting was set by Viktor Gustafsson with 49.248 seconds at an average speed of 101 km/h. LeCont congratulates these champions and all the participants in this top-level competition.

LeCont considers this World Championship to have been an overwhelming success and is delighted to have been, for many years, a regular partner to FIA Karting, which organises the most prestigious events throughout the season.
